Abstract: Rotating convection has important application in both astrophysical and planetary contexts. Based on numerical simulation covering different geometrical domains (boxed and spherical shell sections),we are going to discuss the spontaneous formation of long-lived cyclones and anticyclones in fast spinning convection zones.
